It measures your room once
Set-up plays a sweep from the listening seat and keeps the correction on the speaker, so it survives a new phone, a new router and a house move.

A sealed cabinet
No port, so it can sit against a wall without the bottom octave doubling.
One mains lead
No amplifier, no rack, no speaker cable across the floor. The stream arrives over the network and the speaker does the rest.

A group is not four speakers playing four copies. It is one clock, and the handover between rooms overlaps, which is why you can walk through the house without hearing a seam.

1 The living room
Two Skala 3 across the long wall. The group starts here because this is where the stream is usually opened.

One speaker, wall fixed above the coats. It joins the group as you pass and leaves it when the front door closes.

The handover finishes here. Nothing restarts, nothing drops: the same second of the same track is playing in all three.

This room is not in the group, so the system never hands it anything. It is the only photograph on this site that was left as the camera made it.

What a room does to the bottom two octaves
A speaker measured on a stand outdoors and the same speaker measured in your kitchen are not the same speaker. Below about 200 Hz the room is louder than the driver.

A port buys you loudness for free and charges for it later, usually against the wall you were always going to put the speaker against.
